Big Ass Bourbon Tasting at LexLive will happen on Wednesday, June 11 at 5 pm in downtown Lexington as part of the 250Lex year long celebration. The event will feature a flight of four bourbons, food, live music, giveaways and more. Tickets for this event are not on sale yet. Please check back for more details.

ATS Construction presents “Cheers to 250Lex, It’s Showtime!” an entertaining evening of choreography, music, fashion, and of course all things Lexington. Join us from 7:30-9 p.m. on Friday, June 13 at Central Bank Center for a spectacular evening celebrating Lexington’s 250th birthday.
Owned and directed by Mr. William Parris, Uniqueness Unlimited Productions & Entertainment, a local studio, has produced an exclusive 250Lex production with Uniqueness Unlimited models, talented local musicians, vocalists, and a choreographed cabaret-style show that celebrates Lexington.

2025 Tea and Talk at Waveland: “The Story of the Blunderbuss and Charlotte Mentelle”

A blunderbuss is a type of firearm that was popular from the 17th to the early 19th centuries. It is characterized by a wide, flared muzzle, designed to fire a spread of shot. Charlotte Mentelle carried a Blunderbuss to America in the 1790s. In 1820 Mademoiselle Mentelle opened a girl’s boarding school in Lexington. Charlotte’s blunderbuss is displayed at Waveland along with the portrait of her husband. At a “Tea and Talk” Waveland serves Solomon’s Porch savories, scones and sweets and Elmwood Inn tea. Raised in Michigan and now based in Nashville, GRAMMY Award-winning Billy Strings is known as one of music’s most compelling artists. Most recently, he unveiled “California Sober,” a collaboration with legendary artist Willie Nelson–his first release since partnering with venerable label, Reprise Records. The collaboration follows Strings’ most recent full-length album, Me/And/Dad, which was released last fall and features Strings alongside with his dad, Terry Barber. The product of a longtime dream, the record features new versions of fourteen bluegrass and country classics that the two have been playing together since Strings was a young child. Billy Strings is nominated for three awards at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards: Best Bluegrass Album (Me/And/Dad), Best American Roots Song (“California Sober” feat. The townspeople, eager to honor the revolutionary icon, greeted him with parades, speeches, and an overwhelming display of admiration for his role in securing American independence. Lafayette’s visit sparked a sense of pride and nostalgia, and in a celebration of the shared history between France and the United States.
